1ST SHATHAKA
Shloka 1.
श्रीमाता श्रीमहाराज्ञी श्रीमद्सिंहासनेश्वरी
चिदग्निकुण्डसंभूता देवकार्य्यसमुद्यता
॥१॥
To the mother of wealth all glories be,
From whom comes all wealth and glory,
The great queen of the ultimate truth be,
Seated on throne of the universe – Glory.

Who arises from radiance real truth truly,
Who in devotee illuminates knowledge fully,
Frees him from darkness of ignorance truly,
With lamp of knowledge ends darkness* fully**.

She who manifests to destroy evil – Glory,
Who strives to destroy evil in heart of devote,
Arjun, when virtue fades and evil grows truly,
Then I come as the conscience undoubtedly*

Shloka 2.
उद्यत्भानुसहस्राभा चतुर्बाहुसमन्विता
रागस्वरूपपाशाढ्या क्रोधाकाराङ्कुशोज्ज्वला
॥२॥
Who enlightens and destroys evil of devotee,
With four arms in all directions destroys evil fully,
She the cause of love and attachment in life be,
She carries stick of anger to destroy all surely.

Shloka 3.
मनोरूपेक्षुकोदण्डा पञ्चतन्मात्रसायका
निजारूणप्रभापूरमज्जद्ब्रह्माण्डमण्डला
॥३॥
. Who the mind of all living beings – Glory,
Who controls five senses* clearly – Glory,
Who helps life appreciate them by mind truly,
In Her light pink glow universe immersed be.

Shloka 4.
चंपकाशोकपुन्नागसौगन्धिकलसत्कचा
कुरुविन्दमणिश्रेणीकनत्कोटीरमण्डिता
॥४॥
Her hair the fragrance of flowers heavenly,
She the originator from whom all fragrances be,
She the real crown who is ornamented wholly,
She source of all wealth, gems, prized stones be.

Shloka 5.
अष्टमीचन्द्रविभ्राजदलिकस्थलशोभिता
मुखचन्द्रकलङ्काभ मृगनाभिविशेषका
॥५॥
She adorned with half moon illuminence be,
Her face moon’s beauty tainted by a tilak* be,
She who has manifested as everything – Glory,
That which is beautiful in this universe surely.

Shloka 6.
वदनस्मरमांगल्यगृहतोरणचिल्लिका
वक्त्रलक्ष्मीपरीवाह चलन्मीनाभलोचना
॥६॥
She with extremely beautiful eye brows be,
Its movement changes universal cause truly,
As man swayed by Kama Deva spell bound be,
She with extremely beautiful eyes does be.

Shloka 7.
नवचंपकपुष्पाभा नासादण्डविराजिता
ताराकान्तितिरस्कारिनासाभरणभासुरा
॥७॥
Her nose fresh champak flower does be,
Sublime and beautiful – to Her all Glory,
She who with the beautiful nose stud be,
To Her heavenly grace – all the Glory.

Shloka 8.
कदंबमञ्जरीक्ण्प्तकर्ण्णपूरमनोहरा
ताटङ्कयुगलीभूततपनोडुपमण्डला
॥८॥
She who beautiful with a bunch of flowers be,
Of the Kadamba trees with her ear studs surely,
Whose ear studs the sun and the moon do be,
Who manifests as universe – to Her all Glory.

Shloka 9.
पद्मरागशिलादर्शपरिभाविकपोलभू:
नवविद्रुमबिंबश्रीन्यक्कारिरदनच्छदा
॥९॥
She who with the most beautiful cheeks be,
Smoother than gem, as polished mirror glittery,
Whose lips outshine the redness certainly,
That of fresh coral and bimba fruit confidently.

Shloka 10.
शुद्धविद्याङ्कुराकारद्विजपङ्क्तिद्व्योज्वला
कर्प्पूरवीटिकामोदसमाकर्षिदिगन्तरा
॥१०॥
She who with extremely beautiful teeth be,
Who chews beetles leaves fragrant surely,
The fragrance attracts in all directions truly,
She who attracts everyone to herself clearly.

Shloka 11.
निजसल्लापमाधुर्य्यविनिर्भर्सितकच्छपी
मन्दस्मितप्रभापूरमज्जत्कामेशमानसा
॥११॥
She whose voice with sweetness be,
That it belittles her veena’s sound surely,
Her voice soothes heart of her devotee,
She who with the beautiful smile does be.

Who supreme over all passions does be,
Who bring all passions under control fully,
Who overcoming desires and anger truly,
Who Self-aware – She glad for that devotee.
