लस्तकशोभि करोज्वल कङ्कणकान्ति सुदीपित दिङ्मुखे
शस्ततर त्रिदशालय कार्य समादृत दिव्यतनुज्वले ।
कश्चतुरोभुवि देविपुरेशि भवानि तवस्तवने भवेत्
पालय हे ललितापरमेश्वरि मामपराधिनमम्बिके ॥ १४॥
Ma Lalita Parameshwari I wronged, look after me,
All directions shine by bangles on her hands clearly,
Who lustrous, the divine form to help devas truly,
Tripurasundari, who capable of praising Ma Bhavani

ह्रीम्पदलाञ्चित मन्त्रपयोदधि मन्थनजात परामृते
हव्यवहानिल भूयजमानक खेन्दु दिवाकररूपिणि ।
हर्यजरुद्र महेश्वर संस्तुत वैभवशालिनि सिद्धिदे
पालय हे ललितापरमेश्वरि मामपराधिनमम्बिके ॥ १५॥
Ma Lalita Parameshwari I wronged, look after me,
You nectar by churning milk ocean with “hreem” be,
Fire, air, earth, water sky, moon, sun, sacrifice be,
Gives occult powers and salvation to her devotee.

श्रीपुरवासिनि हस्तलसद्वर चामरवाक्कमलानुते
श्रीगुहपूर्व भवार्जित पुण्यफले भवमत्तविलासिनि ।
श्रीवशिनी विमलादि सदानत पादचलन्मणि नूपुरे
पालय हे ललितापरमेश्वरि मामपराधिनमम्बिके ॥ १६॥
Ma Lalita Parameshwari I wronged, look after me,
Lives in Tripura, fanned by Lakshmi and Sarasvati,
Result of good deeds of Subrahmany previously,
Dear to Shiv, worshipped by all devas sincerely.

Essence of Vedas Prayer addressed to Tripura Sundari
कस्तूरीपङ्कभास्वद्गलचलदमलस्थूलमुक्तावलीका
ज्योत्स्नाशुद्धावदाता शशिशिशुमकुटालंकृता ब्रह्मपत्नी।
साहित्यांभोजभृङ्गी कविकुलविनुता सात्विकीं वाग्विभूतिं
देयान्मे शुभ्रवस्त्रा करचलवलया वल्लकीं वादयन्ती ॥१॥
With Brahma’s consort word power may I blessed be,
With moving necklaces in shinning neck scented be,
With moon luster, as female bee enjoying the honey,
Her fame sung, dons white, playing the Veena clearly.

एकान्ते योगिवृन्दैः प्रशमितकरणैः क्षुत्पिपासा विमुक्तैः
सानन्दं ध्यानयोगाद्बिसगुणसदृशी दृश्यते चित्तमध्ये।
या देवी हंसरूपा भवभटहरणं साधकानां विधत्ते
सा नित्यं नादरूपा त्रिभुवनजननी मोदमाविष्करोतु ॥२॥
She in sages’ mind, who in control of their senses be,
Who overcome hunger, thirst; as lotus at Dhyan end be,
She with swan form, destroys birth fear of her devotees,
Who as sound form and three worlds’ mother blissful be.

ईक्षित्री सृष्टिकाले त्रिभुवनमथ या तत्क्षणेऽनुप्रविश्य
स्थेमानं प्रापयन्ती निजगुणविभवैः सर्वदा व्याप्य विश्वम्।
संहर्त्री सर्वभासां विलयनसमये स्वात्मनि स्वप्रकाशा
सा देवी कर्मबन्धं मम भवकरणं नाशयित्वादिशक्तिः ॥३॥
Let the Primeval power spreads Her Self divinity universally,
She destroys all other powers, merges within Herself fully,
And who but appears to the others as a self-luminous body,
Destroy my ties with world; causing birth, death repeatedly.

लक्ष्या या चक्रराजे नवपुरलसिते योगिनीवृन्दगुप्ते
सौवर्णे शैलशृङ्गे सुरगणरचिते तत्त्वसोपानयुक्ते।
मन्त्रिण्या मेचकाङ्ग्या कुचभरनतया कोलमुख्या च सार्धं
सम्राज्ञी सा मदीयं मदगजगमना दीर्घमायुस्तनोतु ॥४॥
At golden mountain top of Meru - ladder of principles be,
Made by devas, is present In Puras, hidden by Yoginis,
Attended by black manthrinis decorating breasts clearly,
She the queen, as excited elephant - grant long life fully.

ह्रींकाराम्भोजभृङ्गी हयमुखविनुता हानिवृध्यादिहीना
हंसोऽहम् मन्त्रराज्ञी हरिहयवरदा हादिमन्त्राक्षरूपा ।
हस्ते चिन्मुद्रिकाद्या हतबहुदनुजा हस्तिकृत्तिप्रिया मे
हार्दं शोकातिरेकं शमयतु ललिताधीश्वरी पाशहस्ता ॥५॥
She female bee of Hreem, praised by the horse faced be,
Does not increase, decrease; Goddess of Hamsa chant be,
She soul of mantras, dons divine symbol, asuras’ slayer be,
Shiv’s consort, Lalita, noose holder – rid my sorrows fully.

हस्ते पङ्केरुहाभे सरससरसिजं बिभ्रती लोकमाता
क्षीरोदन्वत्सुकन्या करिवरविनुता नित्यपुष्टाऽब्जगेहा।
पद्माक्षी हेमवर्णा मुररिपुदयिता शेवधिस्संपदां या
सा मे दारिद्र्यदोषं दमयतु करुणादृष्टिपातैरजस्रम् ॥६॥
Holds a lotus flower, world mother, born in milk ocean be,
Praised by ever famed elephant, eyes as lotus, in lotus be,
She golden hued, consort of the enemy of Mura does be,
She who blesses with wealth, cure defects due to poverty.

सच्चिद्ब्रह्मस्वरूपां सकलगुणयुतां निर्गुणां निर्विकारां
रागद्वेषादिहन्त्रीं रविशशिनयनां राज्यदानप्रवीणाम्।
चत्वारिंशत्त्रिकोणे चतुरधिकसमे चक्रराजे लसन्तीं
कामाक्षीं कामितानां वितरणचतुरां चेतसा भावयामि ॥७॥
I meditate on Kamakshi, form of real divine Brhamam be,
With all qualities, qualityless, detached, bias, hate ridder be,
She one with moon, Sun as eyes, giving kingdoms easily,
Who shines with forty angles and all the desires fulfiller be

कन्दर्पे शान्तदर्पे त्रिनयनज्योतिषा देववृन्दैः
साशङ्कं साश्रुपातं सविनयकरुणं याचिता कामपत्न्या।
या देवी दृष्टिपातैः पुनरपि मदनं जीवयामास सद्यः
सा नित्यं रोगशान्त्यै प्रभवतु ललिताधीश्वरी चित्प्रकाशा ॥८॥
When the Love God burnt down by Shiv’s eyes’ glow fully,
Rathi Devi begged devas, Shiv for his mercy with humility,
Then Goddess by her sight gave life to the Love God truly,
Let Lalita Devi with divine luster cure my diseases totally.

हव्यैः कव्यैश्च सर्वैर्श्रुतिचयविहितैः कर्मभिः कर्मशीलाः
ध्यानाद्यैरष्टभिश्च प्रशमितकलुषा योगिनः पर्णभक्षाः।
यामेवानेकरूपां प्रतिदिनमवनौ संश्रयन्ते विधिज्ञा
सा मे मोहान्धकारं बहुभवजनितं नाशयत्वादिमाता ॥९॥
Let darkness due to passion which over births crept in me,
By primeval mother who destroys all sins, be destroyed fully,
Who does fire sacrifices and yogis adepts in 8-fold path be,
Who assumes many forms for the good of people in reality.

लक्ष्या मूलत्रिकोणे गुरुवरकरुणालेशतः कामपीठे
यस्यां विश्वं समस्तं बहुतरविततं जायते कुण्डलिन्या।
यस्या शक्तिप्ररोहादविरलममृतं विन्दते योगिवृन्दं
तां वन्दे नादरूपां प्रणवपदमयीं प्राणिनां प्राणधात्रीम् ॥१०॥
I salute Goddess, in form of sound, with the sound Om be,
Giver of soul to life, seen in kama peeta by Guru grace only,
Who creates the entire world through her power as Kundalini
Having power to make available rare nectar to her devotees.

ह्रींकाराम्बोधिलक्ष्मीं हिमगिरितनयां ईश्वराणां
ह्रींमन्त्राराध्यदेवीं श्रुतिशतशिखरैर्मृग्यमाणां मृगाक्षीम्।
ह्रींमन्त्रान्तैस्त्रिकूटैः स्थिरतरमहिभिर्धार्यमाणां ज्वलन्तीं
ह्रीं ह्रीं ह्रीमित्यजस्रं हृदयसरसिजे भावयेऽहं भवानीम् ॥११॥
I meditate chanting “Hreem, Hreem”, that Goddess Bhavani,
Who is the Goddess Lakshmi of the ocean of milk surely,
Child of Mountain, Goddess to Gods, revered by Hreem be,
Deer eyed, seen in Vedas, as light by great mediators truly.

सर्वेषां ध्यानमात्रात्सवितुरुदरगा चोदयन्ती मनीषां
सावित्री तत्पदार्था शशियुतमकुटा पञ्चशीर्षा त्रिनेत्रा।
हस्ताग्रैः शंखचक्राद्यखिलजनपरित्राणदक्षायुधानां
बिभ्राणा वृंदमम्बा विशदयतु मतिं मामकीनां महेशी ॥१२॥
Let my intelligence be given clarity and dept by Her fully,
She visible as Savitri in solar system, by meditation clearly,
Who wears crescent and has five heads and three eyes,
Shines with conch, wheel in hands protecting devotees.

कर्त्री लोकस्य लीलाविलसितविधिना कारयित्री क्रियाणां
भर्त्री स्वानुप्रवेशाद्वियदनिलमुखैः पञ्चभूतैः स्वसृष्टैः।
हर्त्री स्वेनैवधाम्ना पुनरपि वलये कालरूपं दधाना
हन्यादामूलमस्मत्कलुषभरमुमा भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदात्री ॥१३॥
Let my sins be destroyed by world creator, law giver be,
Who rules over all using and in the five elements does be,
Who destroys all by her power, in form of “time” assuredly,
She the good and the bad of all; wealth, salvation giver be.
13
लक्ष्या या पुण्यजालैः गुरुवरचरणाम्भोजसेवाविशेषात्
दृश्या स्वान्ते सुधीभिर्दरदलितमहापद्मकोशेनतुल्ये।
लक्षं जप्त्वापि यस्या मनुवरमणिमादिसिद्धिमन्तो महान्तः
सा नित्यं मामकीने हृदयसरसिजे वासमङ्गीकरोतु ॥१४॥
Let Her place of stay as pond of my mind approved be,
Who is made the aim of one by doing good deeds truly,
Who is visible to good by serving the teacher actually,
All occult powers got by chanting Her mantra repeatedly.

ह्रीं श्रीं ऐं मन्त्ररूपा हरिहरविनुताऽगस्त्यपत्नीप्रतिष्ठा
हादिकाद्यर्णतत्त्वा सुरपतिवरदा कामराजप्रतिष्ठा।
दुष्टानां दानवानां मनभरहरणा दुःखहन्त्री बुधानां
सम्राज्ञी चक्रराज्ञी प्रदिशतु कुशलं मह्यमोंकाररूपा ॥१५॥
Let my welfare be by Sri Chakra Queen who as Om” be
She worshipped by Shiv, Vishnu and Agasthya wife be,
She the meaning of the Haadhi and Khaadhi chants be,
She blesses Indra, ends asuras, sorrow - Empress be.

श्रीमन्त्रार्थस्वरूपा श्रितजनदुरितध्वान्तहन्त्री शरण्या
श्रौतस्मार्तक्रियाणामविकलफलदा फालनेत्रस्य धारा।
श्रीचक्रान्तर्निषण्णा गुहवरजननी दुष्टहन्त्री वरेण्या
श्रीमत्सिंहासनेशी प्रदिशतु विपुलां कीर्तिमानन्दरूप ॥१६॥
May good great by who sits on throne be given to me,
Who surrender to her, She as “Sreem”, rids difficulties,
Gives results; She God’s consort with three eyes be,
Resides in Sri Chakra, slays bad, boon giver does be.

Shri Shodashi Tripura Sundari Ashtakam
श्री षोडशी त्रिपुर सुन्दरी अष्टकम
कदम्बवनचारिणीं मुनिकदम्बकादम्बिनीं,
नितम्बजित भूधरां सुरनितम्बिनीसेविताम् ।
नवाम्बुरुहलोचनामभिनवाम्बुदश्यामलां,
त्रिलोचनकुटुम्बिनीं त्रिपुरसुन्दरीमाश्रये ॥ १॥
I salute three worlds’ beauty, 3 eyed Shiv’s consort be,
Wanders in Kadambha forest, as rich cloud to sages be,
Hips excel mountains, served by wide hipped maidens be,
Eyes as newly opened lotus, colour as rich grey cloud be.

कदम्बवनवासिनीं कनकवल्लकीधारिणीं,
महार्हमणिहारिणीं मुखसमुल्लसद्वारुणीम् ।
दयाविभवकारिणीं विशदलोचनीं चारिणीं,
त्रिलोचनकुटुम्बिनीं त्रिपुरसुन्दरीमाश्रये ॥ २॥
I salute three worlds’ beauty, 3 eyed Shiv’s consort be,
Lives in Kadambha forest trees, has Veena of Gold truly,
Dons prized gems necklace, face aglow with nectar be,
Who showers whats needed, with pretty eyes, shifting be.

कदम्बवनशालया कुचभरोल्लसन्मालया,
कुचोपमितशैलया गुरुकृपालसद्वेलया ।
मदारुणकपोलया मधुरगीतवाचालया,
कयाऽपि घननीलया कवचिता वयं लीलया ॥ ३॥
She shields from evil, in Kadambha forest dwelling be,
Her garland above her breasts which as mountains be,
With grace, compassion, blushed cheeks which red be,
By her flowing sweet toned songs and blue hued body.

कदम्बवनमध्यगां कनकमण्डलोपस्थितां,
षडम्बुरुहवासिनीं सततसिद्धसौदामिनीम् ।
विडम्बितजपारुचिं विकचचंद्रचूडामणिं,
त्रिलोचनकुटुम्बिनीं त्रिपुरसुन्दरीमाश्रये ॥ ४॥
I salute three worlds’ beauty, 3 eyed Shiv’s consort be,
Who in middle of Kadambha forest on golden disc be,
On six lotus flowers, giver of eternal light to seers truly,
Likes open japa flowers, on head crescent donning be.

कुचाञ्चितविपञ्चिकां कुटिलकुन्तलालंकृतां,
कुशेशयनिवासिनीं कुटिलचित्तविद्वेषिणीम् ।
मदारुणविलोचनां मनसिजारिसंमोहिनीं,
मतङ्गमुनिकन्यकां मधुरभाषिणीमाश्रये ॥ ५॥
She my refuge who talks sweetly is Mathanga’s progeny,
Holds Veena close to her breasts, with locks are curly,
Lives peals of water lily, evil thoughts unacceptable be,
With eyes red due to zest, entices Love God slayer truly.

स्मरप्रथमपुष्पिणीं रुधिरबिन्दुनीलाम्बरां,
गृहीतमधुपात्रिकां मदविघूर्णनेत्राञ्चलां ।
घनस्तनभरोन्नतां गलितचूलिकां श्यामलां,
त्रिलोचनकुटुंबिनीं त्रिपुरसुन्दरीमाश्रये ॥ ६॥
I salute three worlds’ beauty, 3 eyed Shiv’s consort be,
Holds flower of Love God, dons blue with red dots clearly,
Holds pot of wine, eyes shaking due to intoxication surely,
With high heavy breasts, with disheveled locks swarthy.

सकुङ्कुमविलेपनामलकचुंबिकस्तूरिकां,
समन्दहसितेक्षणां सशरचापपाशाङ्कुशाम् ।
अशेषजनमोहिनीमरुणमाल्य भूषाम्बरां,
जपाकुसुमभासुरां जपविधौ स्मराम्यम्बिकाम् ॥ ७॥
I think of Ambika in meditation, adorned with saffron be,
With musk perfumed locks, seeing all smiling gently,
She who but entices and attracts but so very easily,
Who decked with red hibiscus and Japa flowers be.

पुरंदरपुरंध्रिकां चिकुरबन्धसैरंध्रिकां,
पितामहपतिव्रतां पटपटीरचर्चारताम् ।
मुकुन्दरमणीमणीलसदलंक्रियाकारिणीं,
भजामि भुवनांबिकां सुरवधूटिकाचेटिकाम् ॥ ८॥
I salute the three worlds’ beauty, ruler of Shiv;s world be,
Hair wove by devas’ queen, sandal by Brahma’s consort be,
Who made to wear gem ornaments by Goddess Lakshmi,
And who has several Deva maidens as companions clearly.

॥ इति श्रीमद् शंकराचार्यविरचितं त्रिपुरसुन्दरीअष्टकं समाप्तं ॥
