Vedavedantavedanga Vidyasthanebhya Eva Cha"
Matangi, Tantric form of Saraswati flowing continually,
Her energies focused inward, on deeper wisdom be,
Matangi patron of inner thought and speech does be,
She guides devotee to Aum, the primordial sound truly,
She considered the daughter of Rishi Matang surely,
Worshipped as Goddess Meenakshi at Madurai clearly.
Devi Matangi is actually an aspect of the Goddess Sati,
Associated with Poornima - night of intoxication closely,
She iable to grant control over all forms of speech fully,
Including poetry, music - linked with throat chakra be,
She associated with vast and expansive Wisdom be,
And therefore, associated with Saraswati as well truly.
Matangi, the exiled, also called “Chandalini” humbly,
A Tantric Goddess, of speech or spoken words be,
Covers the Arts, Music and all Siddha-Vidyas surely,
And perfect and supreme Wisdom unquestionably;
She allied with forest, birds, animals, wilderness be,
Daughter of Matang who makes married life happy,
She arises from leftover food of Shiv and Parvati,
Her offerings so should be Uchistha of the devotee,
It may in state of being rotten, eaten or not washed be,
She worshiped by Vishnu, for good-luck and growth be,
No fasting is required, it of a reversed protocol but be,
Against usual worship of Gods in Sanatan Dharma truly,
She related to the magical supernatural powers clearly,
Control over others, enemies by speech or talking be.
Goddess Matangi is also associated with tribal society,
Worshiped in Buddhism, realized Matangi as Matagiri,
She Uchhista, Sam Mohini, Laghu Shyam, Raj Matangi,
Vasya Matanig, Chanda Matangi, Karna Matangi, Rati,
Shadamnayasadhya, Sumukhi Matangi. Shudha, Priti,
Manobhava, Kriya, Anang Kusuma, Anang Madana be,

Sri-Devi:
Hey Mahadeva! Hey Suresh! Hey the Almighty!
Matangi-Kavach is best – of this armor do tell me.
KAVACH
The Lord:
Goddess! I state best Matangi-armor, hear clearly,
Great Devi! Keep this armor secret, chant silently,
May my head be protected by Matangini Devi,
Eyes by Bhuvaneshwari, ears by Totala Devi,
Throat by Maha-Maya, body by Tripura Devi,
Heart by Maheshwari, Tripura on both sides be,
Mother Kameshwari Devi for my secret country,
May they together ever protect me completely,
Chandi protect my femur, Rati-Priya thighs truly,
Maya protect my feet, Kuleshwari my whole body,
Vaishnavi Devi protect my body parts constantly,
Matangi staying in Brahma-ranghra protect me,
May my forehead be protected by Pishachani Devi,
My eyes by Sumukhi, my nose by Goddess Devi,
May great Pishachani protect my posterior body,
Bashfulness my teeth, honor hand my lips fully,
Goddess! May the three 'th' protect cheek truly,
And my throat and ever my heart completely,
My navel by Leela, eyes by Kalika protected be,
My stomach by Chamunda, linga by Katyayani be,
Fiery star protect guhya, Ambika pada-duya fully,
Sharvani arms, Chand-bhushan my heart totally,
Matruka protect Rasna, Pushtimaka in east truly,
Vijaya the south, Medha in west direction clearly,
Shraddha south-east, Lakshman wind-angle fully,
Matangi my north-east, Suvesha Agni-angle surely,
Bala protect my north-east and Urdhva Maha-devi,
She beneficiary of Deva-Vrinda, protect side fully,
May Vishwa-Rupini Vashi – the legendary Devi,
In all underworld ever consistently protect me,
May Sadhdekadash-Varna-Mantramayi Matangi,
Constantly in the very gross places protect me.

Which a very rare and secret armor does be,
Who recites it regularly, basis of wealth be,
Achieves the One Supreme God ultimately,
Reciting Kavach, worshiping Guru sincerely,
All Siddhi will be achieved unquestionably,
O goddess Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwar truly,
Other gods-Vrinda, Brahma-rakshasas actually,
Vaitals, planets etc. ghosts but ashamed to see,
Who dons this Kavach of all triumphs blessed be,
Nripati-ganas enslaved, good karma doing be,
What's more, it is proven everywhere actually.
Not knowing this armor, who worships Matangi,
But short-lived, money-less and foolish does be.
Guru-Bhakti a must, believing this armor fully,
Having full faith - Matangi bestows all-siddhis.

मातंगी महाविद्या कवच
श्रीदेव्युवाच
साधु-साधु महादेव! कथयस्व सुरेश्वर!
मातंगी कवचं दिव्यं सर्वसिद्धिकरं नृणाम्॥१॥
श्री ईश्वर उवाच
श्रृणु देवि! प्रवक्ष्यामि मातंगीकवचं शुभम्।
गोपनीयम् महादेवि! मौनी जापं समाचरेत्॥२॥
विनियोग
ॐ अस्य श्रीमातंगीकवचस्य श्री दक्षिणामूर्तिः ऋषिः विराट् छन्दो मातंगी देवता चतुर्वर्ग सिद्धये जपे विनियोगः।
कवच
ॐ शिरो मातंगिनी पातु भुवनेशी तु चक्षुषी।
तोडला कर्ण युगलं त्रिपुरा वदनं मम॥३॥
पातु कण्ठे महामाया हृदि माहेश्वरी तथा।
त्रिपुष्पा पार्श्वयोः पातु गुदे कामेश्वरी मम॥४॥
ऊरुद्वये तथा चण्डी जंघयोश्च हरप्रिया।
महामाया पादयुग्मे सर्वांगेषु कुलेश्वरी॥५॥
अंगं प्रत्यंगकं चैव सदा रक्षतु वैष्णवी।
ब्रह्मरन्ध्रे सदा रक्षेन्मातंगीनामसंस्थिता॥६॥
रक्षेन्नित्यं ललाटे सा महापिशाचिनीति च।
नेत्रयोः सुमुखी रक्षेद्देवी रक्षतु नासिकाम्॥७॥
महापिशाचिनीं पायान्मुखे रक्षतु सर्वदा।
लज्जा रक्षतु मां दन्ताञ्चोष्ठौ सम्मार्जनीकरा॥८॥
चिबुके कण्ठदेशे च ठकारत्रितयं पुनः।
स-विसर्गं महादेवि! हृदयं पातु सर्वदा॥९॥
नाभिं रक्षतु मां लोला कालिकावतु लोचने।
उदरे पातु चामुण्डा लिंगे कात्यायनी तथा॥१०॥
उग्रतारा गुदे पातु पादौ रक्षतु चाम्बिका।
भुजौ रक्षतु शर्वाणीं हृदयं चण्डभूषणा॥११॥
जिह्वायां मातृका रक्षेत्पूर्वे रक्षतु पुष्टिका।
विजया दक्षिणे पातु मेधा रक्षतु वारुणे॥१२॥
नैर्ऋत्यां सुदया रक्षेद्वायव्यां पातु लक्ष्मणा।
ऐशान्यां रक्षेन्मां देवी मातंगी शुभकारिणी॥१३॥
रक्षेत्सुरेशी चाग्नेये बगला पातु चोत्तरे।
ऊर्घ्वं पातु महादेवि देवानां हितकारिणी॥१४॥
पाताले पातु मां नित्यं वशिनी विश्वरूपिणी।
प्रणवं च ततो माया कामबीजं च कूर्चकं॥१५॥
मातंगिनी ङेयुतास्त्रं वह्निजाया वधिर्मनुः।
सार्द्धैकादशवर्णा सा सर्वत्र पातु मां सदा॥१६॥
फलश्रुति
इति ते कथितं देवि! गुह्याद्गुह्यतरं परम्।
त्रैलोक्यमंगलं नाम कवचं देवदुर्लभम्॥१७॥
यः इदं प्रपठेन्नित्यं जायते सम्पदालयम्।
परमैश्वर्यमतुलं प्राप्नुयान् नात्र संशयः॥१८॥
गुरुमभ्यर्च्य विधिवत् कवचं प्रपठेद् यदि।
ऐश्वर्यं सु-कवित्वं च वाक्सिद्धिं लभते ध्रुवम्॥१९॥
नित्यं तस्यं तु मातंगी महिला मंगलं चरेत्।
ब्रह्मा विष्णुश्च रुद्रश्च ये देवाः सुरसत्तमाः॥२०॥
ब्रह्मराक्षसवेतालाः ग्रहाद्यां भूतजातयः।
तं दृष्टवा साधकं देवि! लज्जायुक्ता भवन्ति ते॥२१॥
कवचं धारयेद्यस्तु सर्वासिद्धिं लभेदध्रुवम्।
राजानोऽपि च दासत्वं षट्कर्माणि च साधयेत्॥२२॥
सिद्धो भवति सर्वत्र किमन्यैर्बहुभाषितैः।
इदं कवचमज्ञात्वा मातंगीं यो भजेन्नरः॥२३॥
अल्पायुर्निर्धनो मूर्खो भवत्येव न संशयः।
गुरौ भक्तिः सदा कार्या कवचे च दृढा मतिः॥२४॥
तस्मै मातंगिनी देवी सर्वसिद्धिं प्रयच्छति॥२५॥
Ma Matangi Stotram
मातंगी स्तोत्र
आराध्य मातश्चरणाम्बुजे ते ब्रह्मादयो विश्रुतकीर्त्तिमापुः।
अन्ये परं वा विभवंमुनीन्द्राः परां श्रियं भक्तिभरेण चान्ये।।
Ma! With worshiping your lotus feet certainly,
Lord Brahma and gods gained fame in reality,
Other Lords of Munis attained supreme glory,
Many gained so worshiping your feet devoted.

नमामि देवीं नवचन्द्रमौलिं मातंगिनीं चन्द्रकलावतंसाम्।
आम्नायकृत्यप्रतिपादितार्थं प्रबोधयन्तीं हृदिसादरेण।।
On whose forehead the moon shines clearly,
Who always reverently enlighten unfailingly,
The meaning of the Vedas in the heart surely,
May salutations to the same Matangini Devi.

विनम्रदेवासुरमौलिरत्नैर्विराजितं ते चरणारविन्दम्।
अकृत्रिमाणां वचसां विगुल्फं पादात्पदं सिंजितनूपुराभ्याम्।।
कृतार्थयन्तीं पदवीं पदाभ्यामास्फालयन्तीं कुचवल्लकीं ताम्।
मातंगिनीं मद्धदयेधिनोमि लीलंकृतां शुद्ध नितम्बबिम्बाम्।।
Goddess! Your lotus feet adorned by gems be,
Of heads of Devasuras bowing them savoringly,
You bless earth with your words and feet surely
Play veena, hips pure – I meditating on You be.

तालीदलेनार्पितकर्णभूषां माध्वीमदाघूर्णितनेत्रपद्माम्।
घनस्तनीं शम्भुवधूं नमामि तडिल्लताकान्तवलक्षभूषाम्।।
Your lotus hands ornamented by the beats be,
Your lotus eyes filled with intoxicating honey,
Your breasts firm, you the bride of Mahadev be,
Your radiance ever electric – To You all glory!

चिरेण लक्षं प्रददातु राज्यं स्मरामि भक्त्या जगतामधीशे।
वलित्रयांग तव मध्यमम्ब नीलोत्पलं सुश्रियमावहन्तीम्।।
Mother! I remember you with devotion truly,
You give the ruined kingdom since eternity,
Your body center adorned with three rings be,
You have worn the Shri like Nilotpal certainly.

कान्त्या कटाक्षैर्जगतां त्रयाणां विमोहयन्तीं सकलान् सुरेशि।
कदम्बमालाचिंतकेशपाशं मातंगकन्यां हृदि भावयामि।।
Sureshwari! With brilliance, sarcasm surely,
You ever are enchanting the worlds three,
Your hair tied with a Kadamba garland be,
You Matangi Devi, I do feel You within me.

ध्यायेयमारक्तकपोलबिम्बं बिम्बाधरन्यस्तललाम वश्यम्।
अलोललीलाकमलायताक्षं मन्दस्मितं ते वदनं महेशि।।
Devi! On Your charming face, below cheeks be,
Blood red lips seen adorned with utmost beauty,
Your hair fickle, eyes big, face full of humor be,
I ever meditate on Your lotus face with sincerity.

स्तुत्याऽनया शंकरधर्मपत्नी मातंगिनीं वागधिदेवतां ताम।
स्तुवन्ति यं भक्तियुता मनुष्याः परां श्रियं नित्यमुपाश्रयन्ति।।
The person who, being devotional, praising be,
The wife of Lord Shiv, Vani, the presiding deity,
Matangini - through this stanza ever devotedly,
That person attains the Supreme Lord surely.

माँ मातंगी स्तोत्र
मातङ्गीं मधुपानमत्तनयनां मातङ्ग सञ्चारिणीं
कुम्भीकुम्भविवृत्तपीवरकुचां कुम्भादिपात्राञ्चिताम्
ध्यायेऽहं मधुमारणैकसहजां ध्यातुस्सुपुत्रप्रदां
शर्वाणीं सुरसिद्धसाध्यवनिता संसेविता पादुकाम् ॥१॥
मातङ्गी महिषादिराक्षसकृतध्वान्तैकदीपो मणिः
मन्वादिस्तुत मन्त्रराजविलसत्सद्भक्त चिन्तामणिः ।
श्रीमत्कौलिकदानहास्यरचना चातुर्य राकामणिः
देवित्वं हृदये वसाद्यमहिमे मद्भाग्य रक्षामणिः ॥२॥
जयदेवि विशालाक्षि जय सर्वेश्वरि जय ।
जयाञ्जनगिरिप्रख्ये महादेव प्रियङ्करि ॥३॥
महाविश्वेश दयिते जय ब्रह्मादि पूजिते ।
पुष्पाञ्जलिं प्रदास्यामि गृहाण कुलनायिके ॥४॥
जयमातर्महाकृष्णे जय नीलोत्पलप्रभे ।
मनोहारि नमस्तेऽस्तु नमस्तुभ्यं वशङ्करि ॥५॥
जय सौभाग्यदे नॄणां लोकमोहिनि ते नमः ।
सर्वैश्वर्यप्रदे पुंसां सर्वविद्याप्रदे नमः ॥६॥
सर्वापदां नाशकरीं सर्वदारिद्रयनाशिनीम् ।
नमो मातङ्गतनये नमश्चाण्डालि कामदे ॥७॥
नीलाम्बरे नमस्तुभ्यं नीलालकसमन्विते ।
नमस्तुभ्यं महावाणि महालक्ष्मि नमोस्तुते ॥८॥
महामातङ्गि पादाब्जं तव नित्यं नमाम्यहम् ।
एतदुक्तं महादेव्या मातङ्गयाः स्तोत्रमुत्तमम् ॥९॥
सर्वकामप्रदं नित्यं यः पठेन्मानवोत्तमः ।
विमुक्तस्सकलैः पापैः समग्रं पुण्यमश्नुते ॥१०॥
राजानो दासतां यान्ति नार्यो दासीत्वमाप्नुयुः ।
दासीभूतं जगत्सर्वं शीघ्रं तस्य भवेद् ध्रुवम् ॥११॥
महाकवीभवेद्वाग्भिः साक्षाद् वागीश्वरो भवेत् ।
अचलां श्रियमाप्नोति अणिमाद्यष्टकं लभेत् ॥१२॥
लभेन्मनोरथान् सर्वान् त्रैलोक्ये नापि दुर्लभान् ।
अन्ते शिवत्वमाप्नोति नात्र कार्या विचारणा ॥१३॥
श्रीराजमातङगी पादुकार्पणमस्तु ।
इति श्रीमातङ्गीस्तोत्रं सपूर्णम्
